If you’re like us, you’ve been busy dusting off your patio furniture and cleaning your outdoor space. We re-stained our cedar decks and fence and grabbed some cute new patio decor for a fresh look! One of the items we finalized this year was this concrete seat wall and fire pit. We wanted this space to feel like Napa Valley, so we added coral sea rock and floating concrete steps to the area. Recently, we sacked the concrete, which means we filled all the air pockets and bug holes by rubbing it with a cement mixture. It helps even out the color tone of the concrete and gives is a fresh, just poured look. Believe it or not, this concrete bench is incredibly smooth and comfortable – we highly recommend it! We have officially dubbed this space, “the party pit” and hope to entertain often.
Navy is one of my favorite colors to play with outdoors. It can easily inspire an Amalfi Coast look! Because why not vacation in your backyard?! Teak wood is a favorite outdoor wood choice. Though on the pricier side, it is durable and lasts in the elements. Serena & Lily states of their teak wood, “we like letting teak age beautifully over time, until it takes on its signature silvery grey hue. But if you’re partial to teak’s warmer tones, simply sand the patina off and start anew”. I could not be a bigger fan of our expandable dining table, pictured below. It also has an umbrella insert.
