We finally moved into our latest “fixer upper” this week, just in time for our baby girl to arrive! Apparently “nesting” is a real thing, because I was SO anxious to move in just to get her room situated. I already feel so much more at peace and better prepared for her arrival…and I can hardly wait to meet her!
It seems like there are A LOT of expectant Mama’s out there right now, so hopefully this post brings some fun inspiration as you decorate your nursery now or in the future. 😉
When it came to the nursery design, our home is a modern farmhouse style home, so I hoped her room would blend with the overall aesthetic of the house. As always, I design each room long before we purchase any of the pieces; the same goes with decorating! This ensures a cohesive look and that I stick to the original vision for the space. Check out my design board from months ago, here! As you can see, it’s pretty similar to how the space turned out, which is a relief!
An easy, cost-friendly way to add texture to a room is to create a Board & Battan accent wall, which we did behind the crib. There are so many DIY tutorials for how to build it online, so no need to hire a contractor for this. I love that it is versatile as we can add wallpaper, a gallery picture frame wall, or paint it a fun color down the road as the baby grows!
We also added a fun barn door as her bathroom door to keep the modern farmhouse vibe going! Be sure to Shop The Post below if you like any of the items you see!
I’ll be honest, I had a girls weekend at The Beverly Hills Hotel last weekend and got some major inspiration from all the iconic pink & banana leaf prints! I decided to pull some of this print into the baby’s room for a fun pattern. What do you think?!
We still have lots of last minute items to gather for the baby before she arrives, so we’ll keep updating her nursery. If you like the items you see, they are all linked below along with items we purchased from our baby registry!
